Buying a gaming laptop, or custom built?

So I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop, and it ideally needs to be a laptop due to many journeys back and forth on the train (university). After doing some research I came across custom built ones and was wondering whether they are any good, and what would be the ideal specs to run games such as DayZ, Titanfall, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Fallout 3 etc, with the budget being kept under £1300 ish.

I also found this laptop and was wondering if this is any good, when compared to a custom one for the same price.

As you can probably tell I'm new to pc gaming, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
