Wireless access problem

Two work colleagues live in separate flats separated by another. One has told the other he can log into his wireless network but the signal is not reaching between the flats. What is the best solution for this. Can a remote router be set up via Homeplug type adaptors? Can you lose a wireless signal over this short distance?

I think I can answer my own question. I see there is a wireless Homeplug version available. this would appear to be what they need.

If they have a separate electricity meter and are on different electricity rings then the Homeplug may not work.
