Hi, I would be grateful for your help.

I have a Nikon Coolpix 885 and store and edit my photos on Photostation Easy which I access through Nikon View 4. This has worked for years with Windows XP. However, I have just bought a laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. It will not allow me to load Nikon View 4.

What can I do?

10: Nikon Capture 4, We do not plan to offer compatibility for this product in the future.

We had released a Windows Vista-compatible version of PictureProject, v1.7.5, for use with the models listed below, and all models that followed. PTP (models supporting the PTP protocol) and Mass storage USB transfer options can be used for camera connection. However, the camera's transfer button can not be used to transfer pictures over a PTP connection. Set the USB transfer option to Mass storage to enable the camera's transfer button.
Currently, the new Nikon Transfer and View NX will replace Picture Project as our new Image Transfer and Browser applications. These applications support the same Nikon products as Picture Project.

Find a new Image edit program.
Most software supplied with camera is pretty low calibre.
I inevitably advise my flock - new camera - leave the disk in the box
You certainly do not need it to upload inages from a camera - the Comuter simply reads the device as removable memory drive. and puts up the Camera/Scanner Wizard.

Free software Picasa from Google
The Gimp
Serif hand old older version of their current stuff - then nag to get the update.
