what flatbed scanner?

I have decided to replace my old Epson scanner as I have a lot of photos I want to scan and put on disk. I may also scan some negatives and slides. Can anyone suggest a scanner that gives good results and is in the £100-150 price bracket.
I hoping that a new scanner will give better results than my old Epson and matbe faster to scan?

An Epson will fit your bill as indeed Canon or HP
Simply trawl the respective web sites for the spec that suits[make a list]
Then go trawling the box shifters for the best prices
easy really and confusing and headache making ;-)
