Viewing pdf files on portable DVD player

My friend travels around a lot and doesn't always have access to a PC. If I copy some technical manuals in pdf format to a DVD disc, can these be accessed on a portable DVD player? I've googled but can't find anything on this, and the PC advisor search doesn't appear to be working at the moment, so sorry if this question has been answered before.

I am standing by to be corrected on this but the answer has to be 'probably not.'
PDF files are read on a computer because it has the reader program installed which needs all the prcossor and other stuff a computer has to rum

A DVD player ain't got that.

However if you scan the pages in to Jpegs- then you may be getting somewhere

Except that they will probably be un readable on the tiny 7/10 inch screen

Thanks for responding, Jack. Sorry not to have done so sooner but I've been away. Thanks again.
