I bought a S-Video to scart lead to connect my laptop to my TV but it's displaying a black and white picture on my TV.

Any help or suggestions?

Thanks
Ian.

Fiddle with the picture settings on your tv.

RGB/compsoite/ component settings etc.

I have. My dvd, sky and wii all work fine through the same socket.

Any laptop settings to change the signal at the external output socket?

Do you have to manually select the AV input on the TV? On my Panasonic I press the button to select the correct AV input for the wii and laptop (they use the same one but at different times) however when connecting the laptop I need to press the button twice. I think that mine is labelled AV 3(s) and pressing the button again selects the (s) mode - this turns my laptop input from b&w to colour.

make sure your laptop is outputting in pal not ntsc

also how old is TV? won't work through scart on a very old TV.

do check that the scart input accepts S-video; SCART normally has composite and RGB. doesn't always/often have S-Video. Perhaps you can try connecting to the TV's S-video socket, but you'll need an S-video to S-video lead

It's sorted now. I had so select SAV2 instead of AV2.

Thanks everyone.
