please help!! LCD TV ..PCB

Hi,

I have been offered a cheap "philips 42" lcd tv 42PFL7662D " it being cheap as the guy selling it is saying "it was written off because the pcb was not available" now will this still work if i use my sky box or xbox throught it as that is all i intend to do. Or will i need to have the pcd replaced (if thats the problem) to run things like sky and xbox?

I dont know a lot about electronics and dont wont to end up with a tv that is only good as a paper weight because the guy selling it just wanted money!

Any help would be much appreacheted!

PCB (printed circuit board) it will depend on what this PCB does.

By the sound of it you will be buying a paper weight.

The only way to find out if it will work is to try it with the Xbox.

Like BRYNIT says, it depends what the failed pcb does.

A television can have upwards of a dozen pcb's.

It depends what the failed one does.

If it controls the display, or the audio, or the colour balance then the tv is useless.

If it only controls the analogue tuner then there will be some use left in it.

Without more detail I would avoid it.
