Options for streaming internet radio

  Gazzerr 05:13 23 Nov 07

I have set up a wireless network and a squeeze box but I still want to get the radio in the kitchen (we live in Tehran). What are the options apart from buying another pc - the squeezebox won't stream R4 overseas.

Is there anyway to get R4 streaming when outside the UK?

Thanks for your help

There are a growing number of "Internet Radios" which work as a wireless device on your network and take their signal through the internet via your router, you can access live radio from all over the world plus archived programmes (Radio 4 has stacks to choose from) and also stream music from other devices you have.....have a look on the examples here.

We have one in our kitchen , and it is probably the best "gadget" I have bought in a long time.

It has a whole list of all bbc radio channels, including bbc sports, and bbc news. All the bbc radio channels can be easily streamed over any internet connection, either 3g or wifi, through pc or mobile/pda. Follow the link click here
