No Image on LCD Screen

I've just bought a 2nd hand 'Minolta Dimage X20', (2Mp).

Everything fires up ok, apart from an image on the LCD screen (although it shows the various modes I've selected, ie: movie/auto flash etc).

Is it possible I'm using an SD card with too high a memory (512Mb), as I note from a review page it doesn't mention anything larger than 64Mb?

Any advice much appreciated.

Take out the 512mb card and then try it. If it works then you know it doesn't like the card. If it doesn't work then you have an old digital camera which will be difficult to get economically repaired. Sad fact of life with old digital kit is that nobody stocks spares for them.

The largest Card I've seen in that Camera is 256Mb, Have you got or tried a lesser Mb card.
