nikon coolpix 5700-shutter release problem

  joel6429 19:14 18 Apr 08

When I try to depress the shutter release button, I get a message in the viewfinder/monitor "sb" and a flashing red light and the shutter release button freezes. Can anyone help please

It is still under warranty
Therefore return it for replacement.
If out of warranty then contact the Nikon support site in case there is an issue with that model- in which case it will be replaced.
Otherwise replace the camera
:ike computer components there is no repair option with these things

"sb" and a flashing red light. : Means that the Flash has not Charged.

is a good first step MCE25.
It is also worth pointing out the paper book is usually only a 'Get you started' item and usually a fully comprehensive manual is on the supplied disk.
The only worth while item on the disk usually.
