Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have bought dvdripper wizard and tried to rip a movie dvd and came across the following problems and welcome ideas and thoughts to acheive a good quality picture and sound:

Ripped to Raw Video (Mpeg2)output - got great picture but no sound

Ripped to AVI (Mpeg4)- poor picture and good sound.

Thanks for your help.

You could try downloading either or both of these two, that's Gspot and Avicodec and let them analyse the mpeg2 "silent" film and find if you have the required audio codec installed, I think Avicodec will tell you where to download a codec if one's needed.

Meant to add I don't know what media player you are using to play the mpeg file in but you could try using vlc media player

also on that page under Popular Downloads is the AC3 filter, which is perhaps the one you need but Avicodec or Gspot should tell you if you need an audio codec.

Have you updated your dvdripper wizard software
