On a Creative, or any other type of MP3 player, is it possible to feed the headphone output into the Aux. input of an old, traditional type of stereo hi-fi amplifier? Would any harm result from trying? Would need specail connection, but can do this. Anyone tried this? Any advice much appreciated.

Yes you can do this easily. Just need a lead with with headphone connector on one end, and whatever connector is on the amplifier (probably 2 x standard phono plugs for left and right connections).

Start with the volume low on the MP3 player, and then adjust to get the right level
