Can I simply link my s-video out on my graphics card to s-video in on a DVD recorder, and record what would usually appear on my monitor.

I would like to put a (non-copyrighted) web cast onto a DVD for someone.

Yes, you can, but you will not be transferring any of the sound as S-Video only carries image.

Does the PC have a DVD burner? If so, you could download the webcast and burn using Nero for a DVD player compatible playback.

Yep, I can link the headphone socket to audio in on the DVD recorder.

I only have Roxio Creator DE, and I don't think it can record for DVD player compatibility.

Thanks.

With S-Video you should buy a lead that has the S-Video connectors plus the red and black (latter sometimes white) audio leads.

There are various combinations including S-Video to Scart - I use this type to connect my Kiss DVD player to the main television - but ensure that any leads are two-way.
