i.LINK or USB to connect Camcorder to PC

Does anyone have views about the differences of using i.LINK or USB to connect my video camcorder to PC, in order to upload video to edit ?

I'm fortunate that my PC (Toshiba Qosmio) has both, being a multimedia PC. My camcorder also has both, which I think is quite common.

I do not know if one is faster / easier / more reliable / ....

Many thanks,
Mike

I'm not sure about your Camcorder but with my Canon Mv530i, the usb connection is only for uploding stills from the sd card. Video has to be uploaded using the firewire link.

Like GroupFC, my Sony camcorder also has to use Firewire to transfer video to the PC.

Maybe some camcorders are different; what make/model do you have?.

Like anchor, my Sony handles things the same way.
