How do I get a Sky free-to-air card?

  John B 15:19 23 Sep 08

I've got sky and I no longer wish to subscribe. I believe that I can obtain a new Sky viewing card which will allow me to continue watching 'free' sky channels (such as sky1) and the usual range of freeview channels.

I have heard that Sky charge for this card and I'm happy to make a one-off payment. Could someone please tell me who to get in touch with, what to ask for, and how much it costs please?

This may sound stupid but have you tried ringing Sky.

Kevscar ... they try to offer me incentives to stay whilst I'm paying an 0870 call.

├četa ... I thought this would be available with the one-off payment? Perhaps not.

I have just unsubscribed from sky and the card I already had allows me to get the free channels

Sky and Freeview are completely different - Sky is satellite and Freeview a terrestial digital service.

You are probably thinking of Sky's Freesat service:

I now know I mean Freesat.

ICF ... thanks. Can you get all of the channels in the link from Stuartli?

To further confuse you, the BBC and ITV commenced their own joint free satellite service, including high definition channels, back in May, which is also called Freesat...:-)

I don't know I would have to check all the channels listed.I will have a check

  ICF 19:17 25 Sep 08

Yes it would seem you do get all the channels listed

Now where do I get the card from ... or will my existing (soon to be downgraded) card do the trick?
