I run Windows 98 1st edition and have no idea if an MP3 player will work and if so, how. Can anyone talk me through what goes where before I get one ?

Firstly a better subject heading than "Help" would be useful. Saves a lot of people looking in who may not have any idea how to help and also encourage those that do have an idea to come and look.

Regarding your post do you want an mp3 player program to run in win 98 or are you looking to connect an external mp3 player.

an external but then again I have no idea what a programme is....

I think you'll find that if it's external it will have to be connected by a usb port and Win 98 1st edition does not support usb.

Ps I think it does support some usb but very cluncky and unreliable.
