In another string originating with the need to update Freeview boxes the debate drifed somewhat [as they do] to the merits of Freeview Radio as opposed
to DAB and the quality of the broacast - all very interesting and informative,
Then aswas I doing some dusting[My turn she said]I happend to move her Robers portable and just happend to notice the legend on the dial plate.

It said PPL digital.

What is PPL digital is it different again?

If it's PLL - then it means Phase Locked Loop which is a technique used in the design of the tuner - in essence it's a way of keeping the tuner *locked-in* to the signal.
