DVB-T (Freeview) modulator wanted

  Graham. 15:17 02 Dec 07

I'm not holding my breath, but...

I have a Freeview hard drive recorder. I would like to use it to record from a CCTV camera, the output of which is AV phono. So I need a modulator to convert this to a 'Freeview' signal.

Maplins have an analogue version click here but is there a digital one somewhere?

I assume that you HDD recorder has an "AV in" socket. Instead of using a modulator, I would have thought you could use an AV 3 pin phono to switchable scart lead. You connect your CCTV camera via the lead to the AV scart input of the recorder, setting the switch in the correct position.

Thanks, it's a Sagem 6200T, it will only record from the aerial, not from the scart.

It's difficult to find info for this model but I found some suggestion that one of the two SCART sockets in input/output, but not the other.

Is this what you are after, click here

No, sorry, the output is analogue channels 21 to 69, same as Maplins. I need digital DVB-T.

Interesting. I shall try the other socket.

Thanks, I'll try the Aux socket tomorrow.

It would be most unusual if you could not record via a scart A/V in connection. I don`t know this Sagem model, but all makes I have heard of previously, do allow recording this way. It would be just too restricting if they limit it to just an aerial signal.

Let is know how you get on.
