Dead pixel locator.

I have just found this excellent freeware program which checks for dead pixels.

It can be run from the Windows Desktop, a floppy or a pendrive as required. This makes it truly transportable and handy for checking friends'/families' non CRT monitors.

Nice find Arnie. Sometimes, they can be difficult to spot unless the background is in contrast to the pixels.

Quite true, but as Tesco says, "Every little helps"

Nice little program indeed, and the best bit, tried it out on my lappy and not one dead pixel in sight. (touch wood)well pleased

I find it better not to try it. If theres a dead pixel there, there's nothing you can do about it so the best thing is not to know about it. Once you find that one exists it will only start to bug you!

What if you have just bought a TFT monitor that is guaranteed to have no dead pixels. You need to notify the supplier if any are found.

Also, some people pay an extra premium for the monitor to be dead pixel free.
Even if only one is found, the supplier should be made aware.

If you can't see 'em.

Why worry!

That's very true. Unfortunately though it only applies to the minority

Points taken.

Let forum members make use of the program that they feel may be of use to them.
