Changing sides

I have a movie on a CD that is playable only via a PC.
I would like to make it available to play on a domestic DVD also.
Is it simply a matter of transferring[copy] the files to a DVD or is the file content also such that a DVD player will not run it?

I (of little experience) did manage that using spare capacity with its own folder on my HD to copy the file from the CD.

Then I used Nero to burn a DVD from the data on the HD, leaving Nero to sort out the DVD so that it runs in a DVD player.

Thank you 'D'
Have been trying to copy the file to HDD this PM in preparation to re-burn only to find that it will not copy- Explorer keeps wanting to shut down
Although it plays perfectly well
I hasten to add this is a home video CD not a commercial one with all the protection built in.
