Camera to DVD recorder problem

I have a new security camera click here
which gives an excellent picture on my PC TFT monitor using Video connection (that's the only output from the camera).

When I connect it to my DVD recorder Video in, however, it only produces a black and white picture with interference patterns. Other devices,eg. Freeview box, work OK on the same input.

I've tried changing the DVD input parameters, but nothing improves the picture.

I understood from the website the camera output would be S-video "Requires composite/S-video In".
Is a camera of this type likely to have S-video output?

If I can't get it to work on the recorder, I assume this would be reason to return it for a refund.

Thanks, I've already raised two questions via email:

1) There is no way to focus the camera.
Answer) 'You will need to open the cover'.
(The cover does not open).

2) There is no battery connector.
Answer) 'It is a mains powered device, however I have posted out a battery clip'.
(A battery connector is shown in the manual).
