audio tape with a 'cue'

I am preparing to make a digital slide show from slides
[This I am familiar with- I do it frequently]
This one however may have a hidden challenge.
It is going to come with a cassette tape narrative, which when uses with a slide projector/cassette player together the tape has a 'cuing' device to nudge the projector to change slide.
I doubt if I can achieve this on a disk ,but if any of you have has experience of this type of thing and can indicate what form the on tape 'cue' takes I may be able to formulate an idea or two.
