Access denied to Torrent file

I have been downloading torrents for the past few days on my laptop, then transferring them via a external HDD onto my desktop. I am able to access the file at this point, however when I move it to another location on the same drive the whole folder becomes inaccessible. I have turned off anything that maybe using the folder/file i.e. indexing, MSN/Google Desktop etc.
can anyone please help?

As I'm sure you're aware, the torrent-downloaded file is not a "torrent" file - it's just a regular file (albeit possibly a large one).

If you're leaving your torrent program running all the time, as they tend to by default - then it may be in use via that, uploading to others.

Remove it first from your torrent prog list, as it sounds as if ur 'seeding'. whilever ur doing this u won't be able to move it as it might say 'this is being used by another programme' or words to that effect.
