XP Pro or XP 64 bit Pro for new comp build

I am building a new computer based on an AMD64 x2 4600 processor and an MSI K9NSLi Platinum mobo. Should I go for the 64 bit or 32 bit version of XP Pro as the only advantage I can see to the 64 bit version is that it can use more memory to run programs etc. Will the 64 bit version run my old 32 bit programs ok?

There are a few problems with getting 64bit drivers for some hardware; I'd stick with 32bit for now. With a GB of RAM you will be more than fine with almost anything you throw at Windows.

I agree, have x64 installed as well as my old 32 bit XP and yes it runs most 32 bit programs fine but some drivers are a problem. Saying that I have found all except USB cable for Sony Erisson camera phone.
