Wireless keyboard and mouse setup

Hi

I want to purchase a wireless keyboard and mouse setup for my laptop but with a lack of keyboards and mice on display for you to feel and try out, i'm struggling to find what i want.

I would like the keyboard to feel like a laptop's/Mac's keyboard when typing or as close as possible. I would like the keyboard to have the numeric pad on the right. I would also like a couple of shortcut keys. Eg to start/stop, skip tracks.

I would like the mouse to be a standard size. I would like the mouse to have a scroll wheel. I don't have any interest in a mouse with too many buttons. A friends mouse has 7 additional buttons not including the left+right buttons and the scroll wheel button. To me this is too many buttons for a mouse.

Does anyone recommended me a setup that is what i'm looking for or similar?

Cheers for any help in advance.

Try Maplins. They usually have keyboards/mice on display and although not connected to a computer you can get touchy feeley! Their staff are very receptive to opening up a box so you can as well.

If you have a local Staples branch, they too have keyboards and mice on display so that you can see and feel them.

Try Logitech wireless Kbd & mouse. I havn't used anything else for years. They arn't cheap but try searchg on net for best value, model 1500 is one to look for. They both run from the same USB dongle - Very reliable.

I use Logitech. a http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/product/wireless-illuminated-keyboard-k800?crid=26 keyboard and a http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/product/performance-mouse-mx?crid=7 mouse both wireless using one unifying receiver. No problems whatsoever. It would certainly work on your system

I've had the logitech MK260 KB and mouse combo for more than a year now and i'm very satisfied.

The KB has all the functions you mention and the mouse also conforms to what you want.

Ebay link to the product :

My batteries are still working on both of them and the range is no problem in my living room, about 15 feet away from the PC.

All the best,

qvision.
