and I must say I like some of the new features very much. There are a few bugs of course, but I'll get another beta version later, and that should be more or less twitch-free.

It's a big download, so get broadband if you can!

How big is Big?? Roughly?

would you believe 200Mb - or thereabouts, it's not fair to say at this stage because the final release may well be different.

On the PCA cover disk then? ;-)))

At this rate my computer is going to be full of fixes, patches, service packs etc.

SP-1a is 128 Mb.

MS offered it on a free CD a while back to UK customers. I think they'll have to do it again for the "56kers" at least.

Whats the deal with getting it on to Cover Disk? Are you allowed to do that? If MS are going to be giving copies on CD away free via the website (as they did with SP1) then why not just given the copies straight to PC magazines to distribute?

Or is there more to it than that?

if i`m not mistaken microsoft had some bother with sun and won`t put updated on cover discs,i`m open to rebutal but i`m sure i`m correct perhaps the forum editor may illucidate.

The new firewall is what was needed!

Especially for those not bothered with security, might help stop these blaster type worms.

Makes you think.

Yeah, its an improvement. Oh and the nice Pop-up blocker.

Shame not to see the IE 7 though.

But I like the external image blocker in OE.
