Has anyone installed this yet and what do they think of the final version? Problems or recommendations? I have downloaded it but I'm wondering whether to install or not? For anyone who hasn't got it yet and wants it the link is below,

I never had any problems with the Beta.

Installed the final release today.

So far, so good.

Just downloaded the new version, and placed it in my download manager cache for later installation.

Made a update check with the present beta version, and Microsoft seems to suggest that my programme is up to date, and I need not do anything did December 31st, when the support for the beta version will be withdrawn. Any comments?.

Apologies to Jimmy14, for perhaps highjacking thread.

The AntiSpyware offering before Defender was always a Beta...:-)

I use to like its mode of operation.

If it's the final release then why is it Beta2

  Jimmy14 16:04 26 Oct 06

What makes you think it's Beta 2?

  freaky 09:26 27 Oct 06

Have updated 3 PC's here with the new version and they are OK.

Microsoft are no longer mentioning Beta.

I notice that the Defender Version number has changed from 1.1.1347.0 to 1.1.1592.0.

The Engine Version number is the same, but Definition Version has changed from 1.14.1734.6. to 1.14.1736.7.

Also notice a subtle change in the colour scheme.

I also have SpyBot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware SE Personal and SpywareBlaster.

Wondering whether to keep these now as I have Defender ?

  zant 11:51 27 Oct 06

I have Defender but the free version of Ad-Aware finds things that Spybot and Defender can't. I don't have SpywareBlaster.
