Wifi extenders and VPNs

Hello there, I have just purchased and installed this wifi extender and I have now a much stronger wifi signal. However I do use a vpn, do internet banking and shopping etc. I cannot log on to the vpn with my tablet when the extender is on. Any ideas? Can you bare in mind that I am very familiar with using laptops and tablets but not technical at all. Many thanks.

I'm not sure how your extender works, but if it is setting up a new network within your network then I would suspect that the NAT process is causing your VPN to fail (calculations based on, among other things, the source IP address are made to verify the integrity of the packet once it reaches the other side, so once NAT changes the source IP address then this checksum process breaks down).

There is normally a feature called VPN / IPsec passthrough that you can enable on devices that NAT. I would look to see if your extender has this.
