Which PC?

Hello reader. I'm using a Mac at the moment, but it's on its last legs and i'll buy a PC soon. I'm after something easy to buy [one stop shop, like a Dell.] I have a lot of music files that need to be transfered from my present hard-drive and burned. I also watch many dvds on my computer, do lots of word processing, and i do ALL my shopping online. What kind of processor and memory should i look for? I heard a lot of horror stories about PCs and viruses. Which protection software should i look for [sensitive numbers will be exchanged regularly]?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Michael.
