Which one ?

Hi, I'm buying a laptop and can't choose a graphics card.
1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 420M or 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
Would be thankfull for the advice

1. The specification of the rest of the laptop(s) in question.

2. What you want to use the machine for.

I'm a final year interior design student. My laptop just broke and I need a replacemnt fast.
I use graphical programs such as VectorWorks (mainly) + photoshop, indesign , autocad (rarely) and so on..
My budget is tight around £500. I know that for a bit extra I would get a very good laptop, but I'm really struggling with the money now.
So I'we been looking around and came up with 2 best choices, I guess.

Dell Inspiron 15R.
Intel I3-380M, 2.53 Ghz, 3M cache
15.6 hd WLED (1366x7684)
4GB 1333mhz dual ch. DDR3 SDRAM
500GB serial ata
Graphics : 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
With free 2days delivery, and 1 year collect and return service.
Price £529

Dell XPS 15
Intel I3-380M, 2.53 Ghz, 3M cashe , 4threads
15.6 hd WLED TL (1366x7684)
3GB 1333mhz dual ch. DDR3 SDRAM
500GB serial ata faster (7200rpm)
Graphics : 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 420M Graphics Card
Price £579
1 year collect and return service.
Delivery 8-10 working days (not really fast enough..)

Ok, so do they both have 4threads ? same processors ? what doeas it do anyway ?
Xps has a bit less ram but faster hard drive + slow delivery and a bit more expensive.
Graphics cards: which is better ?
But is XPS worth more, how is it special ? Would I feel any difference in performance?

I would really appreciate any advice!
And if you have any other alternatives please feel free..

Do not forget if you buy a dell to compare specs and prices ( the same spec computer on the dell site can vary in price )and use the discount codes as shown below.
Also I believe there is a new XPS coming out with the version 2 Intel processor .
Being a student can you obtain any education discounts from Dell ?
