Which ISP?

Our exchange gets dsl enabled in a couple of weeks. Which provider should I go with?
I am looking for 512 - 1mb connection.

yikes, that's like saying "which red wine should I choose?"

It depends on your needs: can you live with a 1GB/month cap or do you need unlimited downloads? Do you need a fixed IP address, do you have your own kit or do you want the ISP to give you a USB modem ...

this is as good a place as any to start: click here

in my home office, and I have nothing but praise for the service. I have been with BT ever since the ADSL service was first launched in the UK (I was one of the initial 10,000 connected customers), and since I started I have only ever had one problem. That was when BT made a mess of the direct debit arrangements and forgot to take their money for one month. They disconnected my broadband service, I was incandescent with rage, they fixed it within hours, and we've never looked back since.

I would thoroughly recommend Freedom 2 Surf. I use the 2.2Mbp/s service, at £20 p/m, which has a 5GB cap. Try as I might, I have never reached that limit and had to purchase more data. The customer service and phone support is always prompt and very efficient, unlike numerous friends' experiences with some of the major ISPs.

I should also mention that F2S has no minimum contract period, which may be useful if a cheaper deal turns up later or your needs change.

bt b/b basic, with them 8 months not one problem,at the moment £15.99 for 3 months then £17.99, the choice is yours

I have BT Yahoo broadband 512 service, I know it's not the cheapest but it sure is the best one I have been involved with, never ever a single problem and boy is it fast.

One of my friends has had this "service" for two months now and hasn't seen one web page or email in that time, as it is impossible for her to log in to the ISP. Her dispute with BT is still ongoing.
