My second PC has a PC-Chips LMR810 socket A motherboard and is using AMD Duron 950MHz at present.I want to upgrade proccessor to AMD Athlon+ 2400 so I have upgraded the bios to the lastest version and I have been told by PC-Chips that it should run the 2400.I have taken the 2400 from my main pc and installed and the system boots and goes into window 98 but gets stuck.
AMD reply that they think the motherboard will only support up to 1200.
Who is right?? has anyone fitted AMD Athon 2400 to one of these boards??
If I change the motherboard I will have to junk the SDRAM in favour of DDR.

AMD are right you can't run a Athlon 2400+ on your MOBO updating the bios won't change this.
Your on the wrong forum you would be better on the help forum.
