Where can I buy a vcr?

  SB23 14:45 06 Dec 06

For Christmas, my daughter has requested a vcr to replace the machine she has now, as it has started to chew tapes, and the picture quality has got to a point that it is unwatchable.
All my wife and I can find is the combined dvd / vcr machines. Even in Tesco's and Asda's, all they have is the combined machines.
Does anyone know where I can get a simple vcr for my daughter?

Generally these machines only come as combined VCR/DVD these days and, if you do find a VCR only machine, I doubt if the price will be much different to the combined machine.

I'd advice you to buy a combined machine as your daughter will then have the choice of formats to play back on her TV.

In general videos are regarded as "very 1990's" and are slowly being phased out. ;-)

Check out Argos, they seem to be about £45, but I've never heard of the make. Put funai vcr into the search box & scroll down

I'll try to paste the link

ASDA earlier today.

I wasn't looking at them, but I think I saw VHS machines in there.

just bought Funai 29B250 Mono VCR from Argos £31: 89p. seems o.k. basic and simple, nothing fancy.

If a nearly new one will do:------
Check out a retail company called cash converers and choose a good clean model. Ask them to demo it before buying
