What scanner?

  RedYelBlu 11:38 01 Jun 07

I have decided to replace my old Epson scanner as I have a lot of photos I want to scan and put on disk. I may also scan some negatives and slides. Can anyone suggest a scanner that gives good results and is in the £100-150 price bracket.
I hoping that a new scanner will give better results than my old Epson and matbe faster to scan?

Forced for practical reasons to ditch my old Epson Scanner (a SCSI) I bought an Epson Perfection V100.

It is miles better than the old, cost about £60+ from PCW, (less than a third the price of the old one)and a bonus for me makes very good scans of old 35mm film and transparencies.

Snag .... It depends on how important speed is to you. I don't think this USB job is any faster than the old one which was fast, but it is only an impression which I cannot prove one way or the other. Certainly its resolution and colour accuracy are better than anything I've tried before.
