i am going to upgrade my computer to have the following components:

-ASUS M2N-E SLI - motherboard - ATX - nForce 500 SLI

-Sapphire RADEON X1550

-AMD Athlon 64 4000+ / 2.6 GHz processor

-Kingston ValueRAM DRAM 2 GB (pc2-6400)

what sort of psu and cooling would i need? im on a short budget so preferably something cheap

I bought a 470 watt Thermaltake 4 months ago click here
It is fine with ample power reserve and most of all very quiet compared with a 'budget' PSU

yeah that seems good, but what about cooling...

retail box cpu comes with cooler. a fan in the front of the case to draw air in and one at the rear to expel hot air. it should not get very hot in the case as you are not installing any powerful stuff.

why the SLI mobo if you're only running a single, low end graphics card? I'm sure you could find a similar mobo without the SLI and save a bit of money.

ill likely be upgrading the card in the future and will be running SLI

thanks for the replies :D

Why not go for a single more powerful GFX card? This wold improve performance and reduce power consumption and heat?

alternatively get a mobo with onboard graphics for now, then do as donki suggests and get something like a 8800gt when you can afford it
