What inverter to run a laptop?

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1000 Z2 which I would like to use in a motor caravan. I was told that I can buy an in car" adaptor for a Toshiba laptop for about £70.00 because the 12V supply from the cigarette lighter has to be stepped up to 19V to satisfy the laptop power requirements.
Surerly, any inverter would do.

I use a normal 300w 12-240v inverter in my car, so far without any problems. I have noticed that the psu unit gets quite warm, but it does that when the battery is charging anyway. I also plug in a set of powered speakers at the same time and apart from a faint buzz it makes quite an acceptable in car theatre system :)

Maplin have a range of inverters which are cheaper than £70. They provide 12V to 240V - car lighter to 3 pin mains socket, so can be used for other mains stuff like printers.
