Updates for AVG 7.5 to end

I have just received a message that all updates for AVG 7.5 free will stop on March 18th 2009.

I went back to 7.5 because of problems I experienced with version 8. From posts in this forum over the last months, it seems that others also had problems with the later version. Version 8.5 is now out; is that more stable and reliable?.

Maybe I should now go for a different free anti-virus, such as Avira or Avast?. What do other members think?.

Just get Avast and save the angst. It seems to be highly recommended.

Thanks GANDALF <|:-)>

I have removed AVG and installed Avast. All working OK.
