TV and PC monitor

I am looking to buy a pc system for my son which will enable him to play his Gamecube on the same screen/monitor as the pc. Would the best way to do this to buy a budget range LCD TV that is compatible with a pc? If so, which one? The Gamecube connects to the TV via a SCART socket.

I have about £700-£800 to spend on the new pc and the monitor. Am I being over optimistic?

As for the pc, I am lookinhg for something with a good graphics card as it will be mostly used for games and internet access. Any recommendations here would be appreciated too.

Thanks.
