Depends, though I think analogue is still just better for gaming due to the refresh rate of CRTs v's TFTs who are catching up.

Last I checked hitachi had some TFTs with a refresh rate of about 15 ms compared to CRTs which have refresh rates of 60-85 Hz (15-13 ms) though that is for horizontal refresh the vertical is a lot faster.

There is also the price and size difference if that is a consideration?
TFT = small but expensive
CRT = big but cheap

TFT for me - especially with a DVI connector.

Any CRT now looks blurred in comparison, regardless of make or model.

I think for the needs you have described TFT offers little over CRT but will cost considerably more.

I am sure others will disagree....... :-)
