HELP! I am a gamer and I can't decide which laptop is best for games performance. There is a 15.4" laptop which has X1400 graphics and the T7200 (2.13GHz) core 2 duo cpu, but then there is the 17" which has X1600 graphics but only the T2250 (1.73GHz) cpu. I really am a bit stuck since these are both around £700 and have virutally identical specs other than the ones mentioned above. Note other specs: 2GB DDR2 667, 120GB SATA HDD, dvd-r burner etc etc.

Most games these days rely upon the gpu more than the cpu, so you buy the gfx card with the most grunt, in this case the x1600 (though, to be honest neither of the cards offer the best gaming experience, the x1600 was slated on its release).

x1600 is ok but nothing spectacular in terms of notebook graphics. For a good gaming machine you're looking at £1000+ easy.
