Stable PC?

I'm looking to buy a stable PC to run some mail server and backup software. Can anyone provide any recommendations/good experiences?

I thought about buying an entry-level server from Dell and put Win 2000 Pro on it, but Dell won't support this operating system on their servers. Server software is not an option as I'd need more than 5 users, which blows the budget (Also, our mail server and backup software will not run under Linux).

Most grateful for any help,

Will

Why not just use a decent PC, if yuor budget is tight and shove XP Pro or Win 2000 Pro on it?

It is a cheap way out.

I run a standard PC with linux, No probs, as my small server, but you have to use Samba to link up to windows servers, etc.
