A special offer or not?

In the national paper today was an advert for Blockbusters. It advertised Lego Indiana Jones on PS3 for £9.99.Great i thought,as my son wanted it and was about to pay £25.00.
I phoned the store and was told it's £34.99 after double checking.I suppose the small print, where it says selected stores only, need only be two stores in the whole of the UK for the ad to be true.
I wonder how many stores actually had it at that price?
I know PC World, when advertising while stock lasts, sometimes must only have one in at each store as they always seem to be sold out.
It seems to me that the small print hides a multitude of sins and is designed to get people into their stores at the minimum cost to themselves.
I hate it when they do this, which is why i always phone first.

You actually believe all old toffee do you?
When I see these signs I think to my self - this stuff has been around so long the total populace must be inured by now surely.
What will be the next catchall?
