I am looking for a good quality digital camera at around the £200 - £250 mark. My choice seems to be between the Sony and Olympus models above. Does anyone have any strong preferences or maybe can suggest something better?

Used to be the case that the Sony cameras had more expensive memory so that is soemthing to consider. I've bought an MJU400 and MJU410 recently and been very happy with both of them so don't expect the MJU500 will be anything less than excellent.

Whatever you choose make sure it has a lithium ion battery.

After much investigation & checking I went for the canon ixus 500 . Top quality photos when you get them printed. Expect to pay circa £230-£240. When this model came out last year it was originally selling for circa £400
