Is there a material difference between the Sony Bravia LCD TVs Model Numbers KDL32V4000 and KDL32V4200 apart from the purchase price?

A quick google suggests it is the same but just cosmetic changes set it apart.

Shop around, some stores (inc some Sony franchises) are currently offering 5 year guarantee on these

Your second link is for a KDL-32V4500..:-)

IIRC Sony makes three levels of television models - perhaps that might explain the differences, although the specifications seem very similar.

It's strange but the Sony site doesn't list a KDL32V4200 just the 4000. Searching google for the 4200 does show results but on at least one site click here I tried the link for the specification and it leads to the Sony page for the 4000 model. I've no idea where the inconsistency is coming from but from what I can make out the two would appear to be the same model.

Ah, I just re-read the page I linked to and it appears that the 4200 is no longer made, it has been replaced with the KDL-32V5500. That explains it, funnily enough the 5500 is the TV I've just ordered lol.

Ignore my rambling, never noticed it was an old post. I answered it from the search pages.
