Any suggestions for the purchase of a small very portable notebook, a 10 inch screen sufficient memory but with a CD rw and DVD to be able to play movies preferably as light as possible and hopefully not too pricey

so be prepared. The Sony C1MHP is an object of desire, but you'll pay around £1750 for the luxury of owning it. There is a CD/RW and DVD drive, but external (at that size what do you expect?) and your movie viewing experience will be less than memorable - only 8Mb of video RAM.

As with most things you'll need to compromise - there's no such thing as a tiny portable that will play DVD movies on an internal drive.
