Skype Conferencing Microphone

I work in an office where we need to set up a means of having a conference with people who live some distance away. Ideally I would like a good quality wireless microphone that could be put in the middle of a table where we could speak to this person on Skype (I was thinking)and they could hear the meetings discussions and contribute to them. Can anybody advise if there is such a thing, or let me know if there is a better idea.

It would probably work better if you had one microphone with a long(ish) lead and pass it to whoever wishes to make a contribution.

A single mike would probably bring varying volume levels for those at the other end of the line, apart from picking up general noise or background talking.
