Should I replace my Zoom router?

Hi, first post here. I'm using a Zoom ADSL X6 5590C router and have poor connectivity in some parts of the house (which isn't huge btw). Been looking at extender options but wondered if the first thing would be to upgrade the router? I don't want to use powerline extender options because I need to connect wirelessly (iPad, iPhone etc). The router is at least 4 years old so is the current generation significantly better? I presume they are. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Kev

Yes the current generation can be better but "it ain't necessarily so" (Porgy and Bess ????)

I ran a 7 year old TP-Link until I got fibre earlier this year and it was better than the Thomson one the Plusnet supplied for me when I had a second phone line.

I would think your cheapest solution is to get a range extender. This does usually mean that you run an ethernet cable to it in the new location.

I have used this one for several months now and it works fine at under £10
