Could someone recommend a Cheap and reliable scanner for doc.s and photo.s

I've had sterling service from a Canon LiDE N670U Lide for 6 years. Not expensive. Of course the model no. will have changed by now so look for a LiDE20/LiDE25 or similar.

a Canon 630U since spring 2000, which is still going strong.

My son and dad have both also had Canon scanners for 6 and 5 years respectively, with no problems whatsoever, one of them is the 670 as snec mentioned.

If mine ever packs up I'd have no hesitation in getting another Canon, if for no other reason than the excellent interface and the "toolbox" provided.

Good luck,

If you haven't made up your mind, I've had three over the years and my current Epson Perfection V.100 is by far the cheapest and best I have had.

Bought when needed in a hurry it had a surprise bonus (for me) of a transparency and 35 mm film facility as well.
