Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 connect to non-smart TV

I have a Samsung tv which is not smart hooked up to Humax Foxsat satellite box, and also to a Samsung MM E460D Micro Hi-Fi / DVD player. I also have Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 tablet, and was told by the salesman that this would connect to my tv so I could watch movies from the tablet, - all I needed was "an adaptor from Amazon". However, on researching it seems that the Tab2 will not connect to the tv through a cable, and to watch tablet movies on the large screen tv I need to connect using Samsung AllShare, and a DLNA compatible device which presumably needs to be connected to the tv by a hdmi cable?

Can anyone recommend a cheap solution to this issue? I don't want to buy a Smart TV for some years, and I would rather not duplicate any equipment I already have (for example adding a DLNA Blu-ray / DVD Player)
