I am about to give my old ,but 'excellent working' Canon Pixma iP 4200 to my grandson, ( who needs one ), and hope to replace with a very similar available printer using the same cartridges. Any helpful suggestions, please ??

The PGI-5BK black cartridge is, according to Tesco, compatible with the following printers:-

Canon Pixma iP 4200, iP 5200, iP 5200 R, iP 6600 D, iX 4000, iX 5000, MP 500, MP 530, MP 800, MP 800 R, MP 830 Pro 9000, iP 6700 D, iP 4300 and iP 5300 MP 510.

So you appear to have the choice of those printers. I do not know of their current availability or features but you can presumably search to see if one meeting your requirements is available.

Thanks natdoor for your input.Seems I am 'clutching at straws':Most of the alternative printers I've looked at are currently 'unavailable ( discontinued). Did'nt want to go to the extremes, pricewise, and now having promised to pass this good old printer on,well, I will just have to 'work something out',and keep on looking .!! thanks again
